Two Pair Crushed by Big Stack (tourney)

BAD BEAT

Another sickening example of the power of the big stack on PokerStars. How does this happen so often? It doesn't make sense.

Pre-flop, I'm ahead but not by much. On the flop, I'm an incredible 96% favorite. So of course, I check since on the previous hand, the villain bet a small amount on the flop, then made a big bet on the turn. I figured I'd punish him and set the trap.

Then, the villain gets a decent card on the turn and hits an open-ended straight draw. I'm now just an 82% favorite. I say "just" because my losing streak has made me believe that unless I have my opponent drawing dead. Even then, I'm still a little worried. So of course, I get all the money in and the villain calls. Just another day in the life of a beaten dog.
